I’m Tired Working 9 to 5
Posted on April 11th, 2008 by Will Work for Cheesecake!!!Think of this picture, I am 70 years old greeting you at Wal-Mart. Think of this picture, I am 70 years old asking you would you like paper or plastic? Why would I work when I am 70 years old? I have to keep on working because I have no retirement. How would I pay bills if I don’t keep on working? Can I still climb 12-foot ladder when I am 70 years old? How will young people treat me when I am 70 years old and I’m still working? What health problems will I have when I am 70? Will I still have teeth when I am 70? I ask myself those questions.
I Will Not Greet You at Wal-Mart When I am 70 Years Old
Why I am not greeting you? The reason is that I max out my ROTH IRA every year since I was 18. When I am 60 how much do you think I will have assuming 7 percents return each year? I just know that if I max out my ROTH IRA every year until I am 60, then I can live off the interest. The sources of wealth are not just you owning some business or you becoming the next John Chow, but doing simple thing like max out your ROTH IRA or 401k.
The Fears Factor
I have seen many people that are 60 to 70 years old still working at Kroger or Wal-Mart. I don’t want to work at Wal-Mart at 60 unless I don’t have anything to do. I like to travel the world when I am 60 or 70 and not have to ask my kids for money. My kids would be asking me for money, and I would tell them to get a job. The world is a harsh place to live in, and if you don’t start your retirement when your young; and you are homeless at 60, then no body give a dam about you.
Final Thought
The reason that you want to max out your ROTH IRA is to prevent yourself from asking your kids for money or being homeless when you are 60 years old. Your kid probably won’t like it if you keep asking them for money. You cannot depend on your kids for retirement; the only person that you can depend on is yourself.
